1. Acceptance of These Terms

By creating an account or using Sites for Scouts (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you are accepting on behalf of a troop or chartering organization, you confirm you have authority to do so.

2. The Service

Sites for Scouts provides troop websites, member management, event and trip planning, and troop account bookkeeping tools. We may add, change, or remove features over time.

3. Accounts & Responsibilities

• Accounts are for adults — troop leaders and parents or guardians. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
• Troop administrators control which members of their troop can see and do what within their site, and are responsible for the accuracy of the data they enter.
• You agree not to misuse the Service, attempt to access other troops' data, or use the Service for anything unlawful.

4. Subscriptions, Trials & Billing

Paid subscriptions are billed annually through Stripe. Free trials become paid only when you choose to subscribe; if you subscribe during a free trial, billing begins when the trial ends. You can cancel at any time from your billing page; cancellation stops future charges but does not refund the current billing period unless required by law. The first 100 eligible units may receive a founding rate of $99/year. That rate remains in effect for as long as the same annual subscription stays active. Canceling or allowing that subscription to lapse ends the locked rate; a later subscription uses the then-current standard rate. A founding spot is claimed when a qualifying subscription starts, including during a free trial. A subscription that ends before any invoice is paid may release its founding spot for another eligible unit.

5. Troop Funds & Bookkeeping

The bookkeeping features of the Service are record-keeping tools. Sites for Scouts is not a bank, payment processor, or money transmitter, and does not hold, transfer, or guarantee troop funds. Troops remain solely responsible for the actual handling of their money and for the accuracy of recorded balances.

6. Your Content

Your troop owns the data and content it enters into the Service. You grant us a limited license to host, display, and process that content solely to operate the Service. We will not use troop data for advertising.

7. Termination

You may stop using the Service and cancel at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or create risk for other users, with notice where practicable. Upon cancellation, you may request an export of your troop's data.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sites for Scouts will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will update the date above and notify troop administrators by email. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
